பாகிஸ்தான் தர்காவில் நடந்தது பைத்தியம் செய்த கொலையா, இல்லை நரபலியா? – ஒரு பைத்தியம் எப்படி இருபது பைத்தியங்களைக் கொல்ல முடியும்? (1)

இவனே “மனநோயாளி” என்றால், அங்கே வரும் பைத்தியங்களுக்கு எப்படி, இந்த பைத்தியம் வைத்தியம் பார்க்கும்?: பாகிஸ்தானில் உள்ள தர்கா காப்பகத்தின் நிர்வாகி ஒருவர், பெண்கள் உள்பட 20 பேருக்கு மயக்க மருந்து தந்து அவர்களை வெட்டியும், தாக்கியும் கொன்ற கோரச் சம்பவம் பெரும் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது என்று தமிழ் ஊடகங்கள் 03-04-2017 அன்று செய்திகளை வெளியிட ஆரம்பித்தாலும், 02-04-2017 மாலையில் முரண்பட்ட விவரங்கள் தான் பாகிஸ்தான் நாளிதழ்கள் மூலம் அறியப்பட்டன[1]. பக்தர்களை காப்பகத்தின் பொறுப்பாளர் தன்னை கொலை செய்யப் பார்க்கிறார்கள் என்று பயந்து, கொன்றதாக செய்திகள் வெளிவந்தன[2]. தனக்கே விஷம் கொடுத்து கொலை செய்ய அவர்கள் திட்டமிட்டதால் தான், அவர்களை கொலை செய்ததாக கூறினான்[3]. சொத்து-அதிகாரம் போட்டி என்றால், தர்காவின் காப்பாளரான அப்துல் வஹீத், அவன் மகன் மற்றவர்கள், இவர்களுக்கிடையில் தான் பகை-கொலை செய்யும் வெறி இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும்[4]. தர்காவை பிடிக்க திட்டம் போட்டவர்களுக்கும், சொகிச்சைப் பெற்றவர்களுக்கும் உள்ள தொடர்பு என்ன? தன்னை கொலை செய்ய வருகிறார்கள் என்பது எப்படி “மனநோயாளிக்கு”த் தெரியும்? இவனே “மனநோயாளி” என்றால், அங்கே வரும் பைத்தியங்களுக்கு எப்படி, இந்த பைத்தியம் வைத்தியம் பார்க்கும்? ஆகவே, எதையோ மறைக்கிறார்கள் என்பது நன்றாகத் தெரிகிறது.

பேய் ஓட்டுவதாகவும், பாவ மன்னிப்பு அளிப்பதாகவும் குரூர சிகிச்சை அளித்த தர்கா: இந்திய விவகாரங்களில் உள்ளே புகுந்து, ஆராய்ந்து, விவரங்களை வெளியிடும் செக்யூலரிஸ ஊடகங்கள், பாகிஸ்தான் நாளிதழ்கள் சொன்னதை கூட போடாமல், திரித்து வெளியிட ஆரம்பித்துள்ளன. தினமணியில் தலைப்பே தமாஷாக இருந்தது! “பாகிஸ்தானில் உள்ள தர்காவில் கொடூரம்: மயக்க மருந்து கொடுத்து 20 பேரை வெட்டிக் கொன்ற மனநோயாளி,” என்ற தலைப்பிட்டது[5]. மனநோயாளி எப்படி, அடுத்தவர்களுக்கு மயக்க மருந்து கொடுத்தான், கொடுத்த பிறகு, வெட்டிக் கொன்றான் என்று விளக்கவில்லை[6]. கொலைசெய்கிறவன், வந்தவர்களின், ஆடைகளை நீக்கி, நிர்வாணமாக்கி, தடிகளால் அடித்தும், கத்தியால் குத்தியும் கொலை செய்தான் என்பது புதிராக உள்ளது. அதில் நான்கு பெண்களும் அடக்கம் எனும்போது, அவர்களை நிர்வாணமாக்கியவன், மருந்து கொடுத்து, மயக்கமடையச் செய்தவன், அப்படியே அடித்துக் கொன்றான, குத்திக் கொன்றானா, அல்லது பாலியல் பலாத்காரம் செய்தானா போன்ற விவரங்கள் தெரியவில்லை.

பேய், பிசாசு பிடித்தவர்களை உயிரோடு எரிக்கும் வழக்கம் இன்றும் பாகிஸ்தானில் உள்ளது: மதநிர்வாக விவகார மந்திரி, ஜெயீம் காதரி, “ரகசிய புலனாய்வுத் துறைமூலம், இத்தகைய மத–காப்பங்கங்கள் பஞ்சாப் மாநிலத்தில் 552 இருப்பதாக தெரிய வந்துள்ளது. ஆனால், இது பதிவு செய்யப்படாதது ஒன்றாகும். பேயோட்டுகிறேன் என்று இப்பகுதியில், இத்தகைய கொலைகள் நடப்பது மற்றும் அவர்களை உயிரோடு எரிப்பது, இந்நாட்டில் அவ்வப்போது நடந்து வருகிறது. ஆனால், இதுபோன்ற கூட்டுக் கொலை நடப்பது, இதுதான் முதல் தடவை,” என்றார்[7]. அதாவது, “பேய், பிசாசு பிடித்தவர்களை உயிரோடு எரிக்கும் வழக்கம் இன்றும் பாகிஸ்தானில் உள்ளது” என்பதை ஒப்புக்கொள்கிறார். ஆனால், தமிழ் ஊடகங்கள் இதனை கண்டுகொள்ளவில்லை. யூத-கிருஸ்துவ-முகமதிய மதங்களின் படி, பேய்-பிசாசு பிடித்தவர்களை உயிரோடு எரிப்பது வழக்கமாக இருக்கிறது. ஆனானப் பட்ட அமெரிக்கா மற்றும் ஐரோப்பிய நாடுகளிலேயே இப்பழக்கம் 20 நூற்றாண்டு வரை இருந்தது. பிறகு சட்டங்கள் மற்றும் கடுமையான நடவடிக்கைக்கள் மூலம் கட்டுப் படுத்தினர். ஆனால், இஸ்லாமிய நாடுகளில், மதநம்பிக்கை மூலம் நடப்பதால், அரசுகள் கண்டும் காணாதது போல இருந்து விடுகின்றன.

விமான பாதுகாப்பிற்கு கருப்பு ஆடு பலிக் கொடுத்த பாகிஸ்தான் விமானத் துறை[8]: நான்கு மாதங்களுக்கு முன்னர் டிசம்பர் 2016ல், பாகிஸ்தானிய விமானத்துறை பாதுகாப்பு கோரி, ஒரு கருப்பு ஆட்டை அறுத்து பலியிட்டனர்[9]. பாகிஸ்தான் விமானங்கள் அடிக்கடி விபத்தில் மாட்டிக் கொள்கின்றன[10]. டிசம்பர் 7, 2016 அன்று நடந்த விபத்தில், விமானம் மலைப்பகுதியில் விழுந்து நொறுங்கியதில் பிரயாணம் செய்தவர்கள் கொல்லப்பட்டனர். இவ்வாறு அடிக்கடி பலிகள் நடப்பதால், ஏதோ தியசக்திதான் வேலை செய்கிறது, அதனை விரட்ட கருப்பு ஆடு பலியிட வேண்டும் என்று, மாந்தீரிகர்கள் அறிவுருத்தியதால், விமான ஆட்கள் அவ்வாறே செய்தனர்[11]. சமூக ஊடகங்கள், மற்றவர்கள் கிண்டலடித்தாலும், அவர்கள் கவலைப்படவில்லை. அதேபோல, பாலங்கள் கட்டுவது, பெரிய சாலைகள் போடுவது போன்ற வேலைகள் ஆரம்பிக்கும் போதும் பலி கொடுக்கப் படுகின்ற்து. நம்ம வீரமணி போன்றோர் அல்லது ஷிர்க் கூட்டத்தால் கலாட்டா செய்யவில்லை.  பொதுவாக ஈத் அன்று 1,00,00,000க்கும் [ஒரு கோடி] மேலான விலங்குகள் பலியிடப் படுகின்றன. இதில் மதநம்பிக்கையை விட வியாபாரம் தான் பெரிதாக இருக்கிறது[12]. தோல் அதிகம் கிடைக்கும், அதனை ஏற்றுமதி செய்யலாம், ரூ 8 கோடிகள் கிடைக்கும் என்றுதான் கணக்குப் போடுகின்றனர்[13]. தோல் வியாபரக் கழகம் அதில் அதிகமாகவே சிரத்தைக் காட்டுகிறது[14]. மிருகங்களை அறுக்கும் போதே, தோலை யார் பெறுவது என்று சண்டை போட்டுக் கொள்வர் / அதையே விளையாட்டாக கொள்வர். அதிலும் அடிதடி-சண்டை நடைபெறுவதுண்டு.

[7] Punjab Minister for Religious Affairs Zaeem Qadri said intelligence agencies along with police and the local government were investigating all aspects of the case. Qadri said that his department managed some 552 shrines in the province, but this one was not a registered with it.
“Investigators will also look into how this shrine was allowed to be set up on private land,” he said. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked for a police report on the investigation within 24 hours, a senior government official said. There have been cases of people dying during exorcism ceremonies at some shrines across the country, but mass killings are rare.

உலக அமைத்திற்காகப் பிரார்த்தனை செய்து கொண்டேன்  –  சொன்னது  /  எழுதியது தலைவெட்டிராஜா!

முஸ்லீம் பிரதம மந்திரியின் தர்கா வழிபாடு: பாகிஸ்தான் பிரதமர் ராஜா பர்வேஸ் அஷ்ரஃப் சனிக்கிழமை (09-03-2013) அன்று ஆஜ்மீரில் உள்ள தர்காவில் வழிபாடு நடத்தினார். அவரைப் புறக்கணிக்கப் போவதாக ஆஜ்மீர் ஷெரீஃப் தர்கா மதகுரு ஜைனுல் அபெதின் அலி கான் அறிவித்தாலும், வந்தவருக்கு எல்லாம் மரியாதைகளும் செய்யப்பட்டன. மேளாதாளத்துடன் வரவேற்கப்பட்டார்[1] [ Ashraf was welcomed in the dargah with the beating of drums and the representatives of Dargah Committee and Anjum Khuddam Syedzadgan received him at the entrance gate]. தர்கா வாசலில் இப்படி மேளதாளம் அடிக்கலாமா என்று தெரியவில்லை[2]. தலையில் தலைப்பாகை வைப்பது,தௌடை அளித்தது, இத்யாதிகள் எல்லாமே நடந்தன.

உலகத்திற்குஅமைதிவேண்டும், பாகிஸ்தானிற்குவளம்வேண்டும்: எல்லாவற்றையும் விட வேடிக்கையான விஷயம் என்னவென்றால், அந்த தலைவெட்டியான் தான் , “உலக அமைத்திற்காக பிரார்த்தனை செய்து கொண்டேன்” – சொன்னது / எழுதியதுதான்! இப்படித்தான் பாகிஸ்தான் நாளிதழ் வெளியிட்டது[3]. ஆனால், அந்த தலைவெட்டி ராஜா முழுக்க எழுதியுள்ளது – “....I wish for peace in the world and for peace and prosperity in Pakistan”! “பாகிஸ்தானிற்கு வளம் வேண்டும்” என்று சேர்த்துதான் எழுதியுள்ளான்[4]. அதாவது, உலகத்தில் அமைதி வேண்டும் என்றால், உலகத்திற்கு இஸ்லாம் வேண்டும் என்ற பொருளும் உண்டு. அதனால், உலகத்திற்கு அமைதியும், பாகிஸ்தானிற்கு வளமும் வேண்டும் என்று இந்தியாவிற்கே வந்து எழுதியுள்ளார் என்றால் பார்த்துக் கொள்ளுங்களேன்! வழக்கம் போல, நமது ஹிந்துவோ, ““I and my family members are fortunate to get an opportunity to visit the dargah. I express gratitude to Gharib Nawaz for this,” he wrote in Urdu.” என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளது! அதாவது, இந்த தர்காவிற்கு நானும் எனது குடும்பத்தாரும் வந்ததற்காக பாக்கியத்தை செய்துள்ளோம். இதற்கான நன்றியை நான் கரீப் நவாஜிற்குத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன் என்று உருதுவில் எழுதியுள்ளார்[5].

பீரே வா என்றால், சோனியா வராதே என்றா சொல்வார்?: காதிம் வழித் தோன்றல்கள் எனக் கூறிக் கொள்ளும் சையத் பிலால் சிஷ்டி கூறுகையில், “எனது அழைப்பின் பேரில்தான் அஷ்ரஃப் மற்றும் அவரது குடும்பத்தினர் வருகின்றனர். அவர்களின் புனித யாத்திரைக்குத் தேவையான உதவிகளை நான் செய்வேன்‘ என்றார். அதனால் தான், பேனாவில் ரத்தத்தை நிரப்புவேன் என்று மிரட்டிய, குர்ஷித் அனுப்பப்பட்டார், நன்றாக ஐந்து நட்சத்திர ஓட்டலில் விருந்தளிக்கப்பட்டது, டாடா காண்பித்துவிட்டு சென்றுவிட்டார் தலைவெட்டி ராஜா!

தர்கா வேறு மசூதி வேறு என்றால், தர்காவில் தொழுகை ஏன்?: தர்கா வேறு, மசூதி வேறு என்று ஆசாரமான முஸ்லீம்கள் வாதிடுவது உண்டு. ஆனால், பிணங்களைப் புதைத்து இடங்களை ஆக்கிரமித்தது தான் முகலாயர்களின் / முகமதியர்களின் வேலையாக இருந்தது. கோவில்கள், மடங்கள், நதிக்கரை புனித இடங்கள் (கட் / காட்டு) முதலியவை அவ்வாறு ஆக்கிரமிக்கப்பட்டு, பிறகு இந்துக்களின் கோவில்கள் இடிக்கப்பட்டு, மசூதிகள் கட்டப்பட்டன. தர்கா வழிபாடே ஹராம் / இஸ்லாமிற்குப் புரம்பானது என்று அத்தகைய ஆசாரமான முஸ்லீம்கள் வாதிடுவது உண்டு. பிறகு எப்படி இத்தகைய நாடகங்கள் அரங்கேற்றப் படுகின்றன? மற்ற விஷயங்களுக்கு ஆர்பாட்டம் செய்யும் தமிழக முஸ்லீம்கள் மௌனிகளக இருக்கின்றார்கள். உண்மையில் அவர்கள் ஆஜ்மீருக்குச் சென்று போராட்டம் நடத்தியிருக்க வேண்டுமே, ஆனால் செய்யவில்லையே?

இஸ்லாம் பாகிஸ்தான் இவ்வாறு நடந்து கொள்வது என்ன விதத்தில் சரி?

இதுதான் அமைதி, சமாதனம் என்றெல்லாம் “இஸ்லாத்திற்கு” பொருள் கொடுக்கும் லட்சணமா?

வாய் கிழிய பேசி வரும் இஸ்லாமிய பிரசாரகர்களுக்கு அழகா?

ஆமாம், இந்திய முஸ்லீம்கள் இதைப் பற்றியெல்லாம் பேசமாட்டார்கள், எழுத மட்டார்கள், “அமைதி” காப்பார்கள்!

மேலும், கீழே அப்துல்லா என்பவருடைய பதிலும் முஸ்லீம் மனப்பாங்கைக் காட்டுவதாக உள்ளது:

“அதான், ஏற்கெனவே சொல்லிட்டோமில்ல? கேட்டா கொடுக்கனும்னா? இல்லைன்னா எடுத்துக்குவோம்”.

அப்துல்லா இந்தியாவிலிருந்துதான் சொல்லியிருப்பது தெரிகிறது.

பிறகு, பாகிஸ்தானின் முஸ்லீமின் மனப்பாங்கு இவ்விஷயத்தில் எப்படி இருக்கும் என்பதனைப் புரிந்து கொள்ளலாம்.

Karachi, Pakistan (CHAKRA) – An activist and council member of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, Amarnath Motumal, stated that at least 20 to 25 girls are abducted and converted to Islam against their will every single month. Hindus are targetted due to many local muslims seeing them as kafirs(non muslims) and therefore of lower class as well as evil.

Motumal further stated that this number is lower than the actual numbers because many cases go unreported due to fear of families and loved ones being killed.  “A large number of Hindu girls in Karachi alone are being kidnapped on a routine basis.”  Threats are commonly given by the dangerous kidnappers that if they are reported, the families will hear of their daughter’s death.

Motumal said that the word “Hindu” has become an insult and almost a shame for all Hindus in the Islamic state of Pakistan because of impoverished state 90% of Hindu families live in.  He addressed that the government and others in power are to blame for the lack of rights available to the Hindu community.  Only a few families come to Motumal for help while the majority keep their losses to themselves hoping that not speaking up will devoid them of future misfortunes.

A former MPA, Bherulal Balani said that Hindu girls in specific scheduled classes are the ones mostly being abducted from the Lyari area.  “Once the girls are converted, they are then sold to other people or are forced to do illegal and immoral activities,” Balani said.  He also added that the hostage takers are very powerful and that is primarily why reports are going awry if they are even made to begin with.

The interior South of Pakistan is where the number of kidnappings has increased within the last three months including nine reports which have been made ranging from kidnappings, to forced conversions, rapes and murders.

In the Nagarparker area, a 17 year old girl was raped and in another incident a 15 year old girl was abducted from Aaklee village, Tharparker followed with a forced conversion.  Almost 71 families travelled from the village to protest against the abuse against the girl.

Even on the festival of Holi during celebrations, two Hindu girls, Kishni and Anita were kidnapped from Kotri.  On the same day, Ajay and Sagar, two other boys were also kidnapped from an area close by.

Amir Gul, was murdered by her landlord at the beginning of March in Tando Haider.  Later in March, Kishan Kumar was kidnapped from Kandhkot, Jacobabab.

MPA Pitamber Sewani said that one of the reasons these acts against Hindu minorities are taking place is because the culprits believe that the minority will support the government in “local body” elections so they want to harass these Hindus to alleviate the support level in upcoming elections.

President of the Pakistan Hindu Council, Ramesh Kumar criticized the minority Hindu community representatives for not standing up and letting their voices be heard at important forums.  He said that these leaders were simply representing their parties and not the poor people and their real issues.  He also added that the dire economic conditions, especially in Kandhkot and Jacobab have led to kidnappings and other abuse of the minority Hindus.

Coordinator HRCP Task Force Sindh Dr. Ashothama Lohano said that according to a report, the most pinpointed and harassed communities in the area are of Hindu and Christian communities.  He stated that “The recent wave of extremism is one reason, which has destroyed the harmony of the land of Sufis. Another reason is the destruction of the agriculture sector and small markets that has led to frustration and lawlessness. Yet another reason is that the elected representatives are working only for the party and not for the community.”

He further stated that the minority Hindu community was an easy target because they did not stand up or speak up against the violations due to fear.  At the same time though, if they chose to speak up and take action they were accused of having Indian connections or killed by local Islamic groups.

How terrorists use cards for everyday needs and to fund operations

If you’ve ever used your credit card to buy plane tickets, go grocery shopping or do some online gambling, your monthly statement may not be all that different from that of a terrorist.

Interviews with terrorism experts and readings of case studies from around the world reveal that the credit card has become a favored tool of terrorists. In the hands of a radical, credit cards enable terrorist funding through money laundering operations and identity theft schemes, while allowing the same everyday transactions that law-abiding citizens enjoy.

Plastic pays for terrorism
Like any business organization, terrorist groups have both one-time costs and recurring expenses. Staging a terrorist attack can be relatively cheap, but there are also the various day-to-day expenses of maintaining a terrorist cell, including food and travel costs. To cover their needs, terrorists require funding.

Case study 1 Where: United Kingdom. Credit card-terror connection: A terrorist cell in the United Kingdom used credit card information stolen via phishing attacks and laundered money through online gambling sites to finance Web sites “promoting martyrdom through terrorist violence,” according to British press reports. Credit card information was put on the black market, which the UK terrorist cell eventually used to establish a network of Web sites that enabled communications among terrorists. The sites also provided information on such topics as computer hacking and bomb-making and hosted videos of beheadings and suicide bombings in Iraq. In 2007, three men — Waseem Mughal, Younis Tsouli and Tariq al-Daour — were sentenced to jail terms in the UK for encouraging others to commit acts of terrorism.

That’s where plastic comes in. “Credit cards are one avenue available for terrorist financing,” says Carol Van Cleef, a partner in the international law firm of Bryan Cave and an expert on anti-money laundering compliance and payments. “Criminals — and I don’t think terrorists are any exception — will use all types of payment alternatives. Credit cards are just one thing they will look to.”

A February 2008 report, “Terrorist Financing,” by the Paris-based international anti-money-laundering agency, Groupe d’action financière (Financial Action Task Force)  reaches the same conclusion. Recent use of credit cards by terrorists, it concluded, “shows the vulnerability of credit cards to misuse for terrorist financing purposes and other illegal activities.”

Experts consulted for this article would not go into detail on specific cases, for fear of providing instructions, but in general, they said the appeal of credit cards is simple. Terrorists and their global support networks choose to finance activities with debit and credit cards for the same reason that the rest of us do: Plastic makes for easy payments. “Any financial vehicles that are convenient for consumers are also convenient for terrorists,” says Debra Geister, director of Fraud Prevention & Compliance Solutions with LexisNexis’s Risk & Information Analytics Group in New London, Minn.

Where’s the python?
Plastic helps terrorists by enabling easy movement of funds — which is ideal for money laundering purposes.

While a drug trafficker may seek to hide the source of ill-gotten gains when transferring money into the legitimate financial system, terrorists launder money “not to hide the source of the money, but to hide the ultimate purpose of the money,” says Chris Myers, chair of the Compliance Services National Practice Team and partner in the law firm Holland & Knight, based in Tyson’s Corner, Va. For example, by funneling funds from a legitimate charity, terrorists may not need to derive their funds illegally.

Ed Wilson, former acting general counsel of the U.S. Department of Treasury, agrees that for law enforcement and others, there is an important distinction between drug and terrorist money laundering. “In one you’re trying to find the bulge moving thru the python, in the other you’re trying to find why the python isn’t there,” Wilson says.

Moving the money
As an example of how terrorists employ credit cards, Myers gives the hypothetical scenario of a terrorist cell in the European Union that wants to carry out an attack on U.S. soil. A credit card obtained in Europe is simply handed to the cell member who travels to the United States to execute the attack. Bringing a wad of bills into this country would violate cash reporting laws (potentially preventing entry into the country), but there is nothing illegal about carrying credit cards from Europe into the United States. Credit cards can even be mailed internationally, Myers says.

Case study 2 Where: Australia Credit card-terror connection: In what’s described as Australia’s largest homegrown terror case, credit cards played a part in a plot to blow up the Melbourne Cricket Grounds during the 2005 Australian Football League Grand Final between the Sydney Swans and West Coast Eagles. Twelve men went on trial in April 2008, accused of plotting the act, which was thwarted by authorities. One witness explained to Australia’s Victorian Supreme Court how he purchased plane tickets and a mobile phone for the suspects using stolen credit card data. The witness, Izzydeen Atik, said he paid taxi drivers $10 for credit card information, according to Australian press reports. Atik said that the terrorist group’s alleged leader, Abdul Nacer Benbrika, had indicated plans to target several Australian sporting events, with the jury shown a secretly filmed video of Benbrika and an undercover policeman detonating explosives in an apparent terrorism test run.

Prepaid cards and gift cards offer a similar benefit: They can be loaded with money and then easily transported to another place for terrorist activity. “Stored value is convenient and it can be anonymous,” says Geister. Since wallets are generally not checked when people move across borders (as opposed to scrutiny of passports or other documentation), “You’ve now brought money across an international border without detection,” Myers says.

Geister says another technique used to transmit funds involves cell phones linked to a prepaid card or credit card account — a common option overseas. A terrorist can link the card to his mobile phone, which can then be used to wire money over the wireless network to a fellow cell member who may be in another country altogether. Geister highlights the speed of this process, saying that it takes just two minutes to register the cell phone and seconds to transfer funds to the person on the other end. The evidence of the transfer would perhaps amount to little more than a transaction detail on the terrorist’s credit card statement.

With terrorists, there is some gray area in regards to what constitutes money laundering. Everyday costs, like groceries, can also be charged to the terrorist’s credit or debit card. “Is it money laundering?” asks Geister. “By the technical definition, it’s not money laundering. Is it facilitating a terrorist cause? Yes it is,” she says.

Ever resourceful and creative, terrorists have a variety of techniques for moving funds around. “There are as many different schemes and scenarios out there as there are money launderers,” Geister says. Regardless of the scheme, the goal is the easy movement of funds for terrorists: “They can fly under the radar screen,” Myers says.

Terrorism and credit card fraud
Terrorist cells often seek to blend in, so careful use of credit is important. “The terrorist is looking to be as vanilla as possible,” says Wilson. Since they don’t want the risk of drawing added attention, “Terrorists by and large will only open up legitimate credit cards,” he says.

Not necessarily, argues Geister. “Certainly they want to stay under the radar,” she says. “But does that mean they don’t use false identities? I don’t think that it does.” Even when credit card information is stolen or a fraudulent account is set up, terrorists still play it safe, making sure they pass the verification tests and avoiding large account deposits while paying off charges incrementally, Geister explains. “The more anonymous they are, the more problematic they are from a money laundering perspective.”

Having numerous fraudulent accounts also gives the terrorist options, she says. “If I have 100 different identities set up in the system, they’re not going to focus on one,” says Geister. This approach helps with law enforcement crackdowns, too. As a terrorist, “The last thing I want to do is to have someone come straight to me,” she says. Linking an account to an actual terrorist’s identity could expose plotters whose names appear on watch lists. Referring to the Office of Foreign Assets Control division of the U.S. Treasury, “If I’m on the OFAC list, am I really going to tell you my name is Osama Bin Laden?” Geister asks.

Case study 3 Where: Columbus, Ohio Credit card-terror connection: Somali native Nuradin Abdi told U.S. investigators that he provided stolen credit card numbers to a man accused of buying gear for al-Qaida, according to federal prosecutors. Abdi allegedly collected the credit card numbers through his cell phone business. The credit card information was in turn provided to an acquaintance who was in the process of buying a laptop, global positioning satellite watch, a laser range finder and other equipment. Abdi is accused of planning to blow up a Columbus, Ohio, area shopping mall along with other al-Qaida operatives, including an admitted member of the terror group, Iyman Faris, who is currently imprisoned for a scheme to sabotage the Brooklyn Bridge. Prosecutors say Abdi attended a guerilla training camp in Ethiopia, with the shopping mall plot hatched shortly after he returned to Ohio in March 2000.

Fraud techniques
Account information from legitimate credit cards becomes a valuable commodity for terrorists. “Terror groups and criminal organizations use credit card cloning and skimming to fund themselves,” says Loretta Napoleoni, author of “Terror Incorporated: Tracing the Money Behind Global Terrorism.” “Cloning is done primarily via the Internet. Skimming requires use of the actual card, so it is done in restaurants and stores,” she says. “It is a very popular and easy technique.” Experts also note that the theft of a laptop or computer database security breaches can produce a treasure trove of credit card information for fraudsters.

“It happens that various terrorist organizations engage in credit card fraud and related crimes (e.g. phishing), as do individuals and groups of so-called ‘homegrown’ terrorists,” says Aaron Weisburd via e-mail. Weisburd is director of the Web forum Internet Haganah, which tracks pro-terrorist online activity. “Regarding the latter, we are in an age of ‘do-it-yourself’ terrorism and this is a kind of fundraising activity that such people can engage in on their own, freeing them from any need for financial support from a formal organization such as al-Qaida.”

“It is worth noting that often the perpetrator is not the terrorist himself, but rather the individuals or small businesses who are providing services such as hosting a Web site for terrorists,” he adds.

“What I can say is that in the course of investigating online activity of terrorist groups and their supporters, I uncover signs of credit card fraud frequently, and have done so for at least six years,” Weisburd says. Still, “I would not say that it is happening more often now than before,” Weisburd says.

How much credit card fraud is tied to terrorism?
Yet it is happening. Fraud is an unbelievably profitable business. “We don’t have any way to know how much of that credit card fraud is related to terrorism. It may be higher than we even know about,” Geister says.

Therefore, consumers can play an active role in preventing terrorist funding by staying alert to credit card fraud. “The more diligent consumers can be to protect their data, the better,” she says.

“Consumer attention to credit card fraud is crucial because the more that people are aware of fraud, the less likely it is to work,” says U.S. Treasury spokesman John Rankin. “Preventing terrorist financing is an international effort with many components, but consumer awareness is certainly important.”

அழிப்பதுதான் இஸ்லாமா-அமைதியா? இந்நிலையில், காஷ்மீரின் புல்வாமா மாவட்டத்தில், அதாவது ஸ்ரீநகரில் இருந்து 43.6 கி.மீ., தூரத்தில் உள்ள கால்பக் அருகே, குண்டுகளை வைத்து ரயில் தண்டவாளத்தை பயங்கரவாதிகள் தகர்த்தனர். நேற்று முன்தினம் இரவு 10 மணிக்கு இந்தச் சம்பவம் நிகழ்ந்தது. இதில், இரண்டு அடி நீளத்திற்கு ரயில் தண்டவாளம் பெயர்ந்தது. காஷ்மீர் பள்ளத்தாக்கு பகுதியில், இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் தான் ரயில் பாதை அமைக்கப்பட்டு, ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவங்கியது என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இந்த குண்டு வெடிப்பில் யாருக்கும் எந்தப் பாதிப்பும் ஏற்படவில்லை.காஷ்மீரின் சில பகுதிகளில் ரயில் பாதை பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. இவற்றை பார்வையிடுவதற்காக உயர் அதிகாரிகள் அங்கு செல்ல இருந்த நிலையில், இந்த குண்டு வெடிப்பு நிகழ்ந்தது. இருந்தாலும், குண்டு வெடிப்பால் பெரிய அளவில் ரயில் பாதை பாதிக்கப்படாததால், உடனடியாக சரி செய்யப்பட்டது. நேற்று காலைக்குள் பாதை சீரமைக்கப்பட்டு ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவங்கியது.

இது தொடர்பாக புல்வாமா மாவட்ட போலீஸ் அதிகாரி கிபாயத் ஹைதர் கூறுகையில், ”குண்டு வைத்து தண்டவாளம் தகர்க்கப்பட்டது தொடர் பான விசாரணை துவங்கிவிட்டது. வெடித்தது சாதாரண குண்டே. அதனால், பெரிய அளவில் பாதிப்பு ஏற்படவில்லை. குண்டு வெடித்த இடத்திலிருந்து சில ஒயர்களைக் கைப்பற்றியுள்ளோம். இருந்தாலும், என்ன வகையான வெடி மருந்துகள் பயன்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன என்பது தடயவியல் பரிசோதனைக்குப் பின்னரே தெரிய வரும்,” என்றார்.

வடக்கு ரயில்வேயின் பிராந்திய தலைமை மேலாளர் ஒபிந்தர் சிங் கூறுகையில், ”ரயில் தண்டவாளம் குண்டு வைத்து தகர்க்கப்பட்டதால், ஸ்ரீநகர் – குவாசிகுந்த் இடையே இரண்டு ரயில்கள் ரத்து செய்யப்பட்டன. உடன் பாதை சீரமைக்கப்பட்டு, இன்று (நேற்று) காலை 10.05 மணிக்கு ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவங்கிவிட்டது,” என்றார்.

ஜிஹாதிகல்/ இஸ்லாம் தீவிரவாதிகள் ஏன் தண்டவாளங்களைப் போடக்கூடாது? காஷ்மீர் பள்ளத்தாக்கு பகுதியில், ஆனந்த்நாக் மற்றும் பத்காம் இடையே 2008 அக்டோபர் 11ல் ரயில் போக்குவரத்து துவங்கியது. பின்னர் இந்தப் போக்குவரத்து, 2009 பிப்ரவரி 14ல் பத்காம் மற்றும் பாரமுல்லா வரை நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டது. 2009 அக்டோபர் 28ல் ஆனந்த்நாக் முதல் குவாசிகுந்த் வரை நீட்டிக்கப்பட்டது.குவாசிகுந்த் – பாரமுல்லா, குவாசிகுந்த் – பத்காம், ஸ்ரீநகர் – பாரமுல்லா, பாரமுல்லா – பத்காம் மற்றும் ஸ்ரீநகர் – குவாசிகுந்த் இடையே தினமும் இரு முறை ஐந்து ரயில்கள் இயக்கப்படுகின்றன.

ஏற்கெனவே ஜிஹாதில் குஜராத்தில் தீவிரவதச் செயல்களை அரங்கேற்றப் போகிறர்கள் என்ற செய்தி அறிந்ததும் தீவிரவாத-எதிர்ப்புப்படை எதேச்சையாக இவனது தொலைபேசி உரையாடல் கேட்டு 14-03-2010 (ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை) அன்று பிடித்தனர்!

ஹிந்துக்கள் மகிழ்சியாக ஹோலிப் பண்டிகையைக் கொண்டாடிக் கொண்டு இருந்தனர்.

இவனுக்கோ சொல்லியபடி கூட்டாளிகள் வரவில்லை போலும்!

அதாவது தீவிரவாத செயல்களை செய்வதற்கு!
