கலிமா சொல்ல மறுத்த சீக்கிய இளைஞனின் சிகை அறுக்கப்பட்டது!
முதுன்பால் சிங் என்ற இளைஞர் (திரல் என்ற இடத்தில் வசிப்பவர்) அடையாளம் காணமுடியாத நபர்களால் பிடித்து அடிக்கப்பட்டு, அவரது சிகைமுடி அப்படியே கொத்தாக அறுக்கப் பட்டது. இந்நிகழ்ச்சி, ஸ்ரீநகரிலிருந்து 160 கி.மீ தொலைவிலுள்ள புல்வாமா மாவட்டத்தில் நடந்துள்ளது.
அவர்கள் அந்த சீகிய இளைஞனைப் பிடித்துக் கொண்டு, “காஷ்மீர விடுதலை” முழக்கமிட ஆணையிட்டனர். பயந்த அவன் அவ்வாறே செய்தான். அடுத்ததாக, கலிமா சொல்லச் சொன்னதற்கு மறுத்துள்ளான். ஆகையால் நன்றக அடித்து, அவனுடைய மத அடையாளமான வளர்ந்துள்ள சிகையை அறுத்துள்ளனர்.
விஷயம் அறிந்த சீக்கிய இளைஞர்கள் ஜம்மு-பதான்கோட் தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலையை மறித்து ப்;ஓராட்டம் நடத்தினர். ஆனால், போலீஸார் லத்தி-சார்ஜ் செய்து கூட்டத்தைக் களைத்து விட்டனர்.
அகில இந்திய சிசோமணி அகாலி தள தலைவர், “யாரோ சீக்கியர்களுக்கும், முஸ்லீம்களுக்கும் பிரிவு உண்டாக்கவே இவ்வாறு செய்துள்ளனர்”, என்றார்.

ஹுரியத் மாநாடு என்ற பிரிவினைவாத இயக்கம், சீக்கியர்களை அமைதியாக இருக்கக் கேட்டுக் கொண்டுள்ளது.
ஆனால், இதே ஹுரித்தின் மற்ற அவதார தீவிரவாத இயக்கங்கள் தாம், காஷ்மீரத்தில் கலாட்டா, கல்லடி கலவரம் முதல் மற்ற பயங்கரவாதச் செயல்களைச் செய்து வருகின்றன. பாகிஸ்தான் ஆதரவாளனான, மஸ்ரத் ஆலம் என்பவன் இப்பொழுது பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ளானாம். முஹமது யாஸின் மாலிக் [Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik], மீர்வாயிஜ் உமர் ஃபரூக் [chairman of Hurriyat’s moderate faction Mirwaiz Umar Farooq] and சையது ஐ ஷா ஜிலானி [its hard-line chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani] முதலியோரை மௌனமாக இருக்கச் சொல்லி, இவனுடை குரல்தான் ஒலிக்கிறதாம். இதனால், காஷ்மீரத்தில், இன்னும் கலவரங்கள் அதிகமாகும் என்று எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. |
காஷ்மீரத்தில் உள்ள பிரிவினை சக்திகளை ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக அடக்கப்படும் வரை, மக்களுக்கு அமைதி திரும்பும் என்பது கனவுதான்.

A former militant and the driving force behind a pro-Pakistani outfit is calling the shots in the separatist movement in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Muslim League, a hardline faction of the umbrella body of Hurriyat Conference, is now an outfit to reckon with. Its brass has sidelined existing separatist leaders of the Valley.
For over a month, known separatist faces-Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, chairman of Hurriyat’s moderate faction Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and its hard-line chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani have desisted from issuing statements on the volatile situation in the state.
Instead, it’s young Masrat Alam, chairman of the Muslim League, who is in the forefront of the separatist protests.
Every Saturday, he issues the schedule of hartal (strike) for the next week.
The League, unlike the JKLF, is pro-Pakistan.
Reports said the group observed Pakistan Day in the Valley last year.
Masrat, the militant-turned-separatist leader, was arrested in September 2008 and kept under the preventive detention.
He was released after 21 months on a bail.
On Tuesday evening, Alam released a compact disc in which he urged the armed forces, especially the police, to join the separatist campaign.
Sensing trouble, the administration issued a note to the director of information in the state to stop print and electronic media from publishing the contents of the CD.
The transcript of the CD, titled “Quit Jammu Kashmir” and addressed to the “armed forces”, reads: “We appeal you to lend solidarity with the people of J& K for the state’s rightful self-determination and the right of the people to be free. We call on your conscience to end the long chapter of deception, tyranny and death. Your actions have killed 1,00,000 and orphaned 60,000.”
Both the National Conference (NC) and the Opposition Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) said it would be improper to attribute the emergence of a “young separatist leadership” (read Masrat) to Pakistan. “It will be denying the reality,” senior NC leader Mehboob Beg said. “Masrat represents the young and angry generation that wants a resolution of the Kashmir dispute. New Delhi should accept this reality.”
PDP spokesman Naeem Akhtar said it was not relevant to try and find out who backs people like Masrat. “The relevant fact is to see who the people of Kashmir are backing,” he added.

Protests erupt after miscreants cut the hair of a Sikh youth
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and chairman of the Hurriyat Conference (moderate) Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday assured the Sikh community of its safety and security.
This came in the backdrop of an incident at Malangpora in Pulwama, in which the hair of a Sikh youth was allegedly cut by a group of youths who wanted him to raise slogans in favour of freedom.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police (South Kashmir Range) Shaqat Watali said the youth from Devar Tral was on way home after work at the Air Force Station. Some youths stopped him and asked him to raise pro-freedom slogans. “But he did not oblige them. They abused him and cut off some of his hair,” he told The Hindu, quoting the complaint filed by the youth.
Mr. Watali said he could not identify anyone, but “we have picked up two suspects for questioning, and further investigation is on.” Through consultations with leaders of both communities, the situation was brought under control. “Both the communities worked together, so that the situation did not flare up, though there was palpable tension in some areas.”
However, at Press Enclave and Hyderpora in Srinagar, Baramulla and other places, Sikhs protested and urged the government to act against the culprits.
A delegation of Sikh leaders met Mr. Abdullah and the Mirwaiz. Mr. Abdullah told the delegation that the government was committed to secularism and brotherhood which, he said was the essence of ‘Kashmiriyat.’
He assured them of their security and welfare, and vowed to deal sternly with elements that harboured designs to disturb communal harmony. The majority community in Kashmir always respected the sentiments of the Sikhs, he said.
An official spokesman said the delegation professed full faith in the Chief Minister and promised him that the Sikh community, which had always worked to strengthen the communal harmony in the past two decades of turmoil in the State, would continue to do so in future.
The Mirwaiz termed the incident intolerable and asked the community leaders to remain cautious, as “such a situation will have dangerous consequences.”
The Mirwaiz said the Hurriyat Conference would work with the Sikh Co-ordination Committee to foil such designs. “There was no place for [such] acts in our culture.”

The police on Thursday arrested two youths for allegedly chopping off a 21-year-old Sikh’s hair. Hundreds of Sikhs marched towards Avantipur on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway to protest against the hair-chopping incident. Senior police and civil administration officials assured the protesters of action against the culprits.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (South Kashmir) Shafqat Watali said: “The complainant hails from Tral. He said that on Wednesday while he was on his way to office, he was stopped by a group of youth near Malanpora who forcibly chopped off his hair. We have picked up two suspects.”
A delegation of Sikhs also met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. “The majority community in Kashmir has always respected the sentiments of the Sikh community and continue to do so,” Abdullah told the delegation.
