சர்வதேச டென்னிஸ் அரங்கில் இந்தியாவுக்கு பெருமை சேர்த்து வருகிறார் சானியா மிர்சா. கடந்த 2009, ஜூலை 10ம் தேதி சானியா மற்றும் அவரது குழந்தை பருவ நண்பரான முகமது சோஹ்ராப் மிர்சா இடையே திருமண நிச்சயதார்த்தம் ஐதராபாத்தில் நடந்தது.இவர்களுக்கு இடையே ஏற்பட்ட கருத்து வேறுபாடு காரணமாக, கடந்த ஜனவரி மாதம் திடீரெனநிச்சயதார்த்தம் ரத்து செய்யப் பட்டது. இந்நிலையில் நேற்று பாகிஸ்தானில் உள்ள தனியார் டிவி சேனலில், இந்திய டென்னிஸ் நட்சத்திரம் சானியா மிர்சா மற்றும் பாகிஸ்தான் கிரிக்கெட் வீரர் சோயப் மாலிக் இருவருக்கும் அடுத்த மாதம் திருமணம் நடக்க இருப்பதாக, செய்திகள் வெளியாகின.

இதுகுறித்து அந்த சேனலில் வெளியான செய்தியில், ”சோயப் மாலிக்கின் தாயார், ஐதராபாத்தில் உள்ள சானியாவின் பெற்றோரை சந்தித்து, மாலிக்-சானியா திருமணம் குறித்து உறுதி செய்துள்ளார் என்றும். வரும் ஏப்ரல் 16 அல்லது 17ம் தேதி லாகூரில் இவர்களது திருமண வரவேற்பு நடக்க இருக்கிறது,” என தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

2வது திருமணம்?பாகிஸ்தான் வீரர் சோயப் மாலிக், கடந்த 2002ம் ஆண்டு தொலைபேசி மூலம் ஐதராபாத்தில் உள்ள ஆயிஷா சித்திக் என்பவருடன் நிச்சயம் மேற் கொண்டு, பின்னர் அதே ஆண்டு ஜூன் 3ம் தேதி திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டார் என தகவல்கள் வெளியாகியிருந்தது. ஆனால், சோயப் மாலிக் இதனை மறுத்திருந்தார்.

HYDERABAD: The Shoaib Malik-Ayesha Siddiqui tangle turned murkier on Sunday with the latter slapping serious charges against the Pakistani cricketer with the police.
Acting on the complaint filed late in the afternoon, the Banjara Hills police registered cases against Malik under sections 498A (subjecting married woman to cruelty), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
Police said Ayesha has alleged that Shoaib married her, then harassed her over petty issues and later denied the nikah ever took place. Now, the complaint says, Shoaib is trying to marry again without her consent.
Ayesha also alleged that Shoaib had offered her $1 million to keep the wedding under wraps and threatened to take her life in case she went to the media. A copy of the nikahnama was attached to the complaint, which was signed by Ayesha and brought to the police by her father.
Two of the sections applied are non-cognizable offences which empower us to effect arrests. They are non-bailable too, a police official said. Officials of the west zone police told TOI they might question Shoaib.
Hyderabad poilce commsioner A K Khan said Shoaib cant leave the city without permission. Imigration authorities have been told to keep a look-out for him.
Legal experts said that by registering an FIR under section 498 A cruelty to a married woman by her husband or his relatives the police have accepted Ayeshas claim of being married to Malik.
We are seeking legal opinion to see if the alleged offences were committed in India or abroad. The marriage did not take place in India. We will have to figure out whether the provisions of IPC can be applied on Malik, a foreign citizen, additional commissioner of Hyderabad police Thirumal Rao said.
We are looking for some prima facie evidence that supports the allegations ofs the complainant, R R Girish Kumar, director general of Andhra Pradesh police, told TOI.
If we are able to secure some proof, his passport can also be seized. The Pakistan high commission needs to be informed only if we have to arrest Shoaib. But, as of now, all this is theoretical discussion, a senior police official said.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the Siddiquis have hired a top notch lawyer, Mahmud Ali, to fight their cases. Among other clients, Mahmud Ali represents the interests of the Nizams trusts.
Sources said the state police were in a tizzy because of the impending high profile marriage of Shoaib with tennis star Sania Mirza. The consensus in the top circles was that they would have to tread carefully in the case but yet be seen to be acting fairly in the matter.

HYDERABAD: The city police on Sunday booked a criminal case against Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. The case under Sections 420 (cheating), 498-A (harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation) were booked against Shoaib based on a complaint lodged by Ayesha Siddiqui, who claimed to have married the cricketer.
“As there are legal complications in the case, we are taking the opinion of legal experts for initiating quick action against Malik,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Co-ordination) Dwaraka Tirumal Rao.
In the complaint, Ayesha alleged that Shoaib was threatening her to accept before the media that she was not married to him. She said Shoaib had married her but now claimed he did not, in order to marry tennis player Sania Mirza. Ayesha’s father Mohammed Siddiqui lodged the complaint at Banjara Hills police station on behalf of his daughter.
The Additional Commissioner said: “If an Indian commits an offence abroad also, he is liable for punishment under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). In this case, the offence was committed out of India by a foreigner. So we are taking legal opinion for necessary action.”

HYDERABAD: Ayesha Siddiqui, who claims to be the wife of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, created a flutter on Sunday alleging that while Shoaib claims he never saw her, the two had shared an “intimate” relationship. She also said she was pregnant at one point of their marriage.
The pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, she said in a telephonic interview.
Ayesha refused to give details of when she had become pregnant and when and where she had the miscarriage, only saying that her gynaecologist was a certain Dr Fatima in Hyderabad. The doctor could not be traced, there being over a dozen of them in the city by that name.
Her statement left reporters guessing about what she would say next, particularly because Ayesha also said she would produce proof at the appropriate time.
Ayesha also alleged, “Shoaib is a liar, making contradictory statements everyday. Today, in a newspaper report, he referred to me as Maha ‘apa’. On a TV show last year, he had said he had met Maha ‘khala’ (aunt) each time he came to Hyderabad. Will he call me Maha ‘dadi’ (grandmother) now?” she asked.
At the Mirza household since morning, friends and relatives kept trickling in. Among them who drove in was V Chamundeswarnath, former secretary of Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association and a close friend of both the families.
According to sources close to the family, even Shoaib’s relatives and family members are expected to land in Hyderabad this week. However, fans of the tennis sensation were missing from the location.
